Coronavirus Update

We would like to thank you so much for the wonderful Senior Prom organized for your residents. It was a unique experience for most of those who attended. We know Mom (Dorothy F.) enjoyed the pampering to get ready to go; arranging for a formal dress for Her, altering it to fit her, doing her nails, fixing her hair, and putting makeup on her. She looked and felt beautiful! And so did all of the other residents who attended! The venue was prepared beautifully - the general appearance and the well appointed tables. The food was wonderful! We felt that everyone could have selected choices for a scrumptious meal - all presented attractively. Having photographers there gave each an opportunity to have a professionally taken photo as a remembrance. Your planning and preparing for the prom, and providing the transportation and volunteers to accompany the residents, made this all possible. We're grateful for your willingness to serve your residents in this way. I'm sure they'll remember that special day and talk about it for awhile! Mom is already enjoying the pictures we've shown her - as are her roommates. Thanks, also, for offering family members the opportunity to accompany their loved one. It was a wonderful experience for each of us, also. We enjoyed sharing this special time with Mom.

My name is Kay S. I came to the MediLodge of Yale for two weeks of therapy following a total knee replacement. The reason I came there was because I heard so many people who had gone through the therapy there that were doing well. This set my expectations fairly high. I am and was not disappointed. The Therapists there have done great things with my knees. I felt I was in great hands. Another thing that I liked was that the therapists there seemed to work so well together, and they had a great rapport with their patients which of course, created a calming atmosphere for all of us. I want to take a moment to say thank you to the therapy staff at the MediLodge of Yale. Good job!

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful care you are giving my Mom and all the residents at MediLodge of Yale. I never expected to see my Mother so healthy, happy and active again. She is thriving at her new home, enjoying the good atmosphere, the good food and, as I said, your good care! I am continually surprised at the level of care given by the staff at MediLodge of Yale and I will always be grateful that my Mother has found such a wonderful last home. Thank you from myself and for my Mother, Mildred B.

To all of the wonderful people at Medilodge and especially activities. This has taken me almost a whole year to write, but you have all been in my prayers and thoughts all this past year. It will shortly be a year since my dear friend Anna passed away and it seems like yesterday. She is sorely missed in my family and especially by me; she was so much a part of my life for the last 20 years that she was in my care. I want to thank you all for the joy you gave her for the time that she had with you. The first time she went to Prom she was so excited you would think she was going to her own wedding, and she never missed the opportunity to go every time she was asked. She loved the outdoor activities, and all the great friends she made there. I know it was upsetting for her not to be in her own place at Casa Maria, since that was the first time in her life that she was truly independent; but you all made her stay there the very best. She made lifelong friends both as roommates and especially in all the wonderful caregivers. Anna did not have much all her life, living in the state home in Lapeer from the age of 16 and in the foster care from 29 thru about 65, but everywhere she went she met people that never forgot her, a sense of humor that could embarrass a sailor when she was happy; and your loving family to life her up when she was sad. Words will never be enough to say thank you for all that your staff in every department did for her.

Dear Staff, We would like to let you know how much we appreciate all the care and concern you showed our mother (and grandmother), Ardith, during the three years she was a resident of MediLodge of Yale. From the very first day, everyone tried to make her (and us) feel at home. She enjoyed attending all the activities you provided on a weekly basis, but especially enjoyed being in the Special Olympics, attending the yearly Harley Motorcycle Picnics, Pig Roasts and of course the monthly Birthday Bash with John Murray. But she also enjoyed the little extra things you did for her from painting her fingernails, taking her on an outing to the dollar store or just stopping in and spending some time talking with her. She considered you her friends! You also became like a second family to us. When we visited mom, we enjoyed visiting with all of you and listening to you talk about your families and outside activities. Even when mom's assigned staff was changed, you still stopped in to talk with her and us. It didn't matter if you were assigned to a different group of people, if we asked you something you would stop and answer our questions/concerns. If you didn't have the answer, you would go out of you way to find it for us. You didn't just consider her a patient, you truly cared for her. Everyones' thoughtful and giving nature truly helped us through the difficult times. Because of all your wonderful staff, you helped make the last few years as enjoyable as possible - both for her and for us. Her years at MediLodge are filled with some great memories (and photographs). We will never forget your kindness!! Thank you again.

My husband has been with MediLodge of Yale since Dec. 2021. I visit two/three times a week and each time all staff are loving, kind and naturally care about every resident. The days I do not visit, I call to check in and the nurses never make me feel like a pest and is always happy to answer my questions. Highly recommend.

Thanks to Medilodge of Yale staff: Special thanks to the therapists who stayed cheerful and dedicated even when some of the clients became a little bored / grumpy. They made it a pleasant, positive experience. I came to Medilodge in a wheelchair and am leaving tomorrow walking with a walker only for security. The food was good, medical care and monitoring continuous. All staff was pleasant. Again, thanks for making a scary time an easier time.

To my dear friends at MediLodge of Yale, It has been more than a month since my departing from your care. The delay in creating this note was due to my shortcomings in choosing the words to say. It finally dawned on me that words could not communicate the gratitude and love in my heart for all of you. My feeble attempt now is to thank you. I did not know there were people outside of my family that were so kind and caring. Like an oasis in the desert you saved me. If I missed your name on the card it is only my frail memory that failed me. I did not and will not forget you. God takes good care of his tools. God Bless- MediLodge of Yale Rehab Graduate
