Recognizing Dedicated Volunteers at MediLodge of Yale!

Volunteer & Web 2

Thank you, Debbie!

Debbie Harnden is an outstanding volunteer here at the Medilodge of Yale. She has been volunteering here since January of 2012. Debbie facilitates one of our most popular religious activities, known as Hymn Sing, which occurs every Tuesday at 2:30 PM in our dining room. The program lasts for an hour which is attended by many of our residents in our center.

Debbie is so dedicated to sharing her love of religious music (aka hymns) with our residents. Even with an ill husband at home who has many doctors’ appointments, she still makes time for the residents here at the Medilodge of Yale. You can tell she truly cares and has taken an interest in the residents here. She assists in the process of helping residents back to their rooms after the activity and uses that time to get to know each resident personally. Debbie also comes into the center on her free time to visit with the residents here. She has been seen on our E/F wing with a group of residents around her chatting, smiling, and sharing stories with them. This is what makes her an outstanding volunteer. Debbie does more than just come and sing some hymns- she cares and has taken a real interest in the residents here and it shows!

She was even enthusiastically nominated for the 2019 Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) Volunteer of the Year Award by our facility. Congratulations Debbie and thank you for everything you do for our residents! 🎉
